Wild Leaves

As the campfire's burning
As the fire ignites
All the moments turning
In the stormy bright
Well enough the churning
Well enough believe
The coming and the going
Wild wild leaves

Innocence

Morning all - a little Wednesday inspiration post for you.  I like the innocence of these images - like the subject has been caught unawares or you've taken a picture that didn't turn out as you expected but better!
Working on ideas for anothe patti Smith inspired post so keep your eyes peeled.
 Have a peaceful wednesday!

Happiness is...

Today I was priveledged enough to be at the Royal Albert Hall to see the Dalai Lama give a talk on happiness.  It was an amazing experience and one I will always remember.  I'm an avid member of Free Tibet and spent a month in Tibet last year teaching children in an orphanage.  Thinking about foreign lands and the mysteries around them spurred me to share with you some of the things I've collected on my travels. My times away always inspire me and the relationships created whilst travelling are the what gives me pure happiness.  These pieces all remind me of a joke shared, a town explored or a journey survived.  I love finding things with a sense of history, it feels like I'm adding something to them and extending their lives with all the stories of my travels that become interwoven with the object.

Happiness for me is seeing the world and bringing some of it's wonders home with me.

Red

So I've told you all before that I'm not really a dress person!  But last night I had the opportunity to glam up for my friend's engagement party and I thought - why not?!  And thought I'd share my outfit choice with you lovely lot.  As the dress is fairly feminine I wanted to harden the look and did so by adding a chunky heel and studded bag.  The tassel is actually one bought in the Morrocan souks of Marrakesh and I think it adds a more bohemian edge to the bag.  I love the color of this dress, red is so eye catching and powerful and it genuinely made me feel more confident whilst wearing it.  It's a massive trend for A/W so grab something in any shade, from vermillion to burgundy.  Red is definitely not dead!

Hazy Days

All this gorgeous sunshine has inspired me to go bohemian and channel some 70's hedonism.  I'm not normally a 'dress' person, trousers are my go-to staple, but this crocheted, floaty piece was found in the Free People sale and at only £30 I couldn't resist.  I love it's relaxed feel and am planning on wearing it to a friend's festival wedding in September. So if you get a break at lunch today head outside, take off those shoes and embrace a little sun-worship!
